The Marice Fox Trot is a fox trot sequence dance composed by W. A. Greenwall in 1920.
Closed position, Lead facing LOD.
Part I - Back the Follow and Zig, Cross and Zag (2 bars): Back the Follow two steps (1, 2), then chassé diagonally forward left (3-and-4). Back the Follow one more step (5), then the Lead crosses left diagonally in front of right as the Follow crosses right diagonally behind left, dipping slightly into the cross step (6). Chassé diagonally forward right (7-and-8).
Part II - Repeat Part I (2 bars): Repeat Part I exactly (1, 2, 3-and-4, 5, 6, 7-and-8).
Part III - Back the Follow, Zig and Pivot (2 bars): Back the Follow four steps (1, 2, 3, 4), then chassé diagonally forward left (5-and-6), ending up with right hip to right hip. Then pivot one full turn in two steps along LOD, Follow backing (7), then Lead backing (8), ending up with Follow to the left side of the Lead.
Part IV - Cross and Zag, Two-Step (2 bars): Repeat the cross and zag (counts 5, 6, 7-and-8) from Part I (1, 2, 3-and-4), then finish with a full turn of turning two-step (5-and-6, 7-and-8).
Repeat from the beginning.
"The Marice" by Robert Shipley is the specified tune, but it doesn't appear to have been recorded, so any square, early 20th century fox trot will do.
